Abstract
Unbalanced spatial distribution of economic centers across cities may lead to severe population density, an inefficient urban transportation system, poverty, and environmental problems, among other things. This research aims to analyze the spatial distribution of economic centers in the city of Tehran with a crisis management approach. This is an applied study that employs a descriptive-analytical method. To analyze the spatial distribution pattern of economic centers, first the K Nearest Neighbors (KNN) and then the Fuzzy-ANP technique and the ARC GIS-Super Decision software were used. Also, the correlation between population distribution and economic centers was explained by the geographical weighted regression (GWR) method. The results suggested that the spatial distribution pattern of all indicators, except transportation, has a cluster pattern with a Z-score below -2.65. On the other hand, in the central and northern areas of Tehran, there is a strong correlation between population distribution and access to economic centers, so that population dispersion in these areas is dependent on the concentration of the economic centers. This can give rise to myriad problems and dilemmas in the future, such as high population density, extreme poverty, regional imbalances and social crises. In this regard, prioritizing the areas of Tehran with emphasis on the southern and western areas and adopting a decentralization approach in the spatial distribution of economic centers are key strategies to ensure spatial justice in access to the economic activities in Tehran.
