Analysis of Health competitiveness indicators in the provinces of Iran country with use MABAC technique

Abstract

 
The main purpose of this study is to assess the level of health and competitiveness in 31 provinces of the country. The research method used is of descriptive-analytical and applied type in terms of targeting. Thirty-six indicators in the form of two main components (work force and infrastructure) were collected using data from the Statistics Center of Iran in 2019. Generalized Shannon entropy models, MABAC analysis and Moran's Global spatial correlation (Moran's I), geographic weight regression in Arc GIS 10.3 software were used to analyze the data. As for health-competitiveness, the results of this study showed that Tehran Province is in the first place both in terms of manpower and infrastructure,  gaining MABAC score (0.621) and that there was a huge difference with this province and the next provinces, including Khorasan Razavi and Fars with points (0.346) and (0.281), respectively. Tehran Province is in the first place in terms of work force and infrastructure, but Khorasan Razavi Province is in the second place in terms of work force and Fars Province is in the second place in terms of infrastructure. Qom Province is in the last place with MABAC score (-0.15). Moran's index in work force and institutional index is less than one, which is a sign of the dominant pattern of distribution of indicators randomly and without planning. While analyzing the effect of population on health indicators using geographical weight regression, it was found that the provinces of Fars, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran and Khuzestan were most affected by their population; however, this relationship was negative for Tehran Province and for the provinces of Alborz and Qom. Meanwhile, the relationship between population density and the amount of health indicators in them showed a negative relationship or no effect.
