Abstract
 
Social capital is a valuable resource for organizations which can facilitate the creation of learning organizations. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of social capital components on the creation of learning organizations among the staff of the Agriculture Jihad Organization of Hamadan Province. This descriptive research was conducted using survey method and a questionnaire as the instrument of the study. The study population consisted of 625 staff of the Agriculture Jihad Organization of Hamadan Province. The sample size was determined (N=237) by using Krejcie and Morgan's Table. In this study, stratified random sampling was used. The content and face validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts. Reliability was strengthened through pilot testing and calculating Cronbach’s alpha. Data were analyzed using a structural equation modeling technique. Results showed a significant relationship between the three structural, relational, and cognitive dimensions of the social capital of the staff working at the Agriculture Jihad Organization of Hamadan Province and the entire elements of learning organizations. Results obtained from structural equations modeling demonstrated that the entire indices of social capital and learning organization had a significant effect on the conceptual model of the study. According to paths coefficients, the empowerment of individuals (0.89) and organizational development (0.88) had the highest impact on the formation of a learning organization in Agriculture Jihad Organization, respectively. Moreover, the conceptual model was shown to be of suitable fitness. In other words, the findings can perfectly explain the relationships between the components of the research conceptual model. According to the findings, it can also be concluded that social capital is effective in empowering employees and managers and of course the farming community to create a learning organization. This can also accelerate the process of acquiring, storing, analyzing and data mining, transferring, disseminating and applying knowledge, and it can facilitate the application of technology as such.
