Abstract
Alzheimer's is one of the irreversible and common brain diseases of adulthood, which has arisen due to the deposition of harmful chemical compounds in the structure of brain cells and has caused disturbances in the transmission of nerve messages between cells and the efficiency of short-term and then long-term memory. It affects various aspects of the patient's personal and social life and gradually reduces his mental and physical ability. Despite the prevalence, extent and growing trend of this disease, limited jurisprudential researches have been conducted on the effect of Alzheimer's disease on the religious rulings and duties of people suffering from this disease. In this research, which is based on the descriptive-analytical method and using library sources, the jurisprudential analysis of the effect of Alzheimer's disease on the obligation, correctness and performance of prayer from the perspective of Islamic religions is discussed. The result of examining the seven stages of Alzheimer's is that from the fifth stage of the disease onwards, the patient, in addition to losing the condition of strength, i.e. will, knowledge and awareness, will not have the condition of reason either; Because he is close to vegetative life and needs the help of those around him to perform his daily tasks, in this case, the patient will lose his ability to pay, as a result, he will not be the addressee of compulsory orders.
