چکیده

هدف: هدف مقالۀ حاضر، توسعۀ نظری حوزۀ هستی‌شناسی‌ها از طریق مطالعه در زیربناهای فکری آنهاست. برای رسیدن به این هدف، ضمن جست‌وجو در اولین تعاریف انجام شده دربارۀ هستی‌شناسی‌ها و استخراج پایه‌های فکری آنها از این تعاریف، به استخراج برخی مبادی فکری این ابزار از طریق تفحص در جنبه‌های فنی آن اهتمام می‌کنیم و سپس، به بازخوانی آنها در فلسفۀ کواین می‌پردازیم.
روش: روش پژوهش حاضر هنگام جست وجو و استخراج مفاهیم کلیدی از تعاریف هستی‌شناسی‌ها، روش سندی و هنگام بحث در مورد بنیان های هستی شناختی آن، رویکرد تحلیل مفهومی است. با این رویکرد، چنانکه در بحث‌های نظری تداول دارد، می‌توان مبادی فکری یک روش یا ابزار را تحلیل نمود.
یافته ها: تحلیل‌ها نشان داد که یکی از بن‌مایه‌های فکری مهم هستی‌شناسی‌ها مفهوم «تعهد هستی‌شناختی» کواین است. بر این اساس، هستی‌شناسی‌ها صرفاً به موجودیت‌هایی تعهد دارند که قابل بازنمایی باشند. بدین ترتیب، وجود و عدم موجودات منوط به قابلیت بازنمایی آنهاست تا موجودیت جوهری آنها در جهان واقعی. همچنین، تحلیل شد که روابط موجود در هستی‌شناسی‌ها را بر خلاف ادبیات موجود نمی‌توان روابطی معنایی (Intensional) از جنس روابط اصطلاحنامه‌ها دانست بلکه روابط میان موجودیت‌ها در هستی‌شناسی‌ها روابطی مصداقی (Extensional) با مرجع‌های سرراست است که از نگاه فلسفی، از معنا تهی است
