The effect of privatization of schools on the social damage caused by the social behavior of students in Mashhad

Abstract

The present research was conducted with the aim of determining the impact of school privatization on the social behavior and misbehavior of public and private school students in Mashhad city. The statistical population of this research is the students of the second secondary level of education in Mashhad. The population of these students is 104,560, which is equivalent to 20.67% of the total student population of Mashhad. The independent variable in this research is "privatization of education" and the dependent variable is "students' social character". The research sample was selected randomly. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 21 statistical software. Based on the data, the average social behavior among students was calculated as 156.30±18.89. By examining the dimensions of social behavior among students, it was determined that the average dimension of cooperation among students is 104.33±13.49 and the average self-management among students is 51.96±6.83. On average, the social behavior of non-government school students They had a high social character. Also, the difference between the two dimensions of social behavior was significant according to the mentioned t-test, and non-government schools had a relatively better situation. According to the obtained results, it was found that the educational environment has an effective role in the formation of students' social character. Also, the findings of the research show that non-government schools have more ability to achieve the goals of education than government schools, and they are more compatible with today's changing environments. Considering the effect of the lack of development of social character on misbehavior and non-conformity with social norms in students and the consequent increase in social damages, it can be said that the privatization of schools can be effective in reducing social damages among teenagers and young people.
